Fort Lauderdale is an extremely popular tourist destination in Florida. It is located right next to Miami, and it has one of the busiest cruise ports in the world, known as Port Everglades. When I went on my last Royal Caribbean cruise, this is the location I left from!
The beach is what makes Fort Lauderdale a great place for a cruise port destination, along with the nice hotels you can stay at before you embark on your lovely journey. You also have Miami just next door, you’ll find more amazing beaches, waterfront homes, and more of a wild nightlife if you head to the famous South Beach neighborhood.
In Fort Lauderdale, you’ll find amazing fresh seafood, beachside bars, restaurants, and most importantly an abundance of exciting watersports. 3. Aloha Parasail

Parasailing is just as much about the views as it is about the height you reach. That’s something that Aloha Parasail in Fort Lauderdale understands. Not only do you get incredible views of the ocean, shore, and city, but you will reach great heights on a 700 or 900-foot towline. The 700-foot option is called “The Seaplane,” and the 900 foot is called “The 747”.
When you choose the 900-foot option, you are looking at a parasailing tour that is higher than others in the area by 200 feet or more. You can expect to spend 10-12 minutes in the air during your parasailing excursion. Each trip lasts up to 2 hours, but it varies based on how many people are in your group. You will fly high on a 800-foot line and soak in the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean and the amazing aquatic life within it. Enjoy solo, tandem, or triples flights at this location! Perfect for families looking for an exciting activity to do together on the water.
You will spend 8-10 minutes in the air with a slow ascent and descent. This eases you into the extreme 800-foot line maximum height and gradually gives you a one-of-a-kind view. Tours typically last 90 minutes for full groups, but you may return to the shore sooner if you are in a small group.

Guests aren’t required to get wet, but your tour guide will dip your feet into the water when you return to the boat if you request it! Of course, I recommend getting dipped into the water because that’s one of the highlights of any parasailing trip. You can find South Beach Parasail right behind the Loews Hotel on the beach.
If you are staying in Fort Lauderdale, I do recommend making a day trip at minimum to Miami. My uncle had a boat in Miami and we would do family trips there often; the beaches, restaurants, nightlife, watersports, and everything combined make for an unforgettable vacay!. Add parasailing on top, and you get the best views around!
